It was intriguing enough that I went back to the beginning and started over. There was also some much needed monologuing that provided clarity about the earlier action. ![]() But, well before the end I found myself engaged in the story, interested in the characters, and impressed with the plotting. So, I decided to just skim through to the end to see if there was an interesting reveal. There was also an emphasis on some android carrying on about humans being weak and selfish and unable to cooperate and so on. It was hard to tell the female characters apart, there was a bit too much crew disharmony, the drawings were all rather dark, there were lots of cryptic or angsty clues about crew member's backstories, and we didn't seem to be moving forward. Off we go to adventure, investigate and explore, and some crew members do better than others.Īfter reading the first quarter of this book I had pretty much had enough. Once landed, the crew members have to deal with head games that disorient their sense of reality said bad vibes appear to emanate from some dark, evil force. In a nutshell, we have an expedition to the abandoned planet, carrying a secret cargo. The story arc for these five issues is complete, although the open ending makes it clear that there is more story to be told. It follows after Volume 1, but apart from a few references to characters from Volume 1 and being set on the same planet 75 years after the events in Volume 1, this Voume 2 is basically a standalone.
